PCR Tubes
Given the current climate crisis, we have no business or intention adding to the planet’s issues. Our tubes are made via a closed loop, Post Consumer Recycling system. This means that all of our tubes of the good stuff are made from the recyclable plastics that end up in landfill and are safe to use again. They are then washed, dried, made into pellets, crystallized, and later made into another form AKA given new life and purpose at MOTHER SPF, and resulting in a never-ending loop of sustainability.
This not only reduces plastic in landfill, but on our streets and in our waterways, too. In addition (yes, it gets better), recycling these plastics calls for less resources to deplete energy and water that could be used for far more important causes. To top it all off, our tubes are filled in Australia using 100% solar power.

We post our products in recycled cardboard boxes that are 100% recyclable. All our marketing materials are also from recycled paper and printed with vegetable dye inks. We also use a carbon neutral courier.

MOTHER SPF is made, tested and filled in our homeland, Australia. Well TBH the founders are based in Australia, and we’re pretty happy here so we didn’t exactly have to jump through hoops for this one.
Now on a serious note, the manufacture of sunscreens is strictly regulated by the Australian Government's Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). The TGA's sunscreen regulations are among the strictest in the world. Which is good news for everyone - all batches of MOTHER SPF are thoroughly tested to ensure that they are safe, manufactured by a TGA approved facility, that the SPF claims on the bottle are exceeded and that the quantity of approved active ingredients is present before they are released to the public. Yes, you are in good wrinkle free hands here!
We have been carbon neutral since 2021 and certified by Trace. This means we offset 100% of our emissions by purchasing carbon credits from a range of projects. Oh and we also plant trees!

At MOTHER SPF, we’re big on honesty, especially when it comes to what goes into our products. So when we say something is “natural,” we back it up with numbers.
The natural origin Index for all our sunscreens is above 99%.
Organic ingredients can have 69% higher antioxidant levels than non-organic ingredients - this superior quality equals a much higher performance and reduces the risk of free radical damage. Not to mention, the use of pesticides, synthetic fertilisers or genetically modified organisms (GMOs) have an unforgiving affect on our planet.
All MOTHER SPFs natural ingredients are sourced from known and trusted suppliers that we have worked with for a long time.
When it comes to protection, we believe less is more. Fewer filters, fewer compromises, and more confidence in what goes on your skin. That is why zinc oxide is the only UV filter we use across all Mother SPF formulas.
Zinc oxide is one of the most trusted and well-studied sunscreen filters in the world. It provides broad spectrum, photostable protection against both UVA and UVB rays and is approved by health authorities globally, including the TGA, FDA, and EU.
Harnessing the latest scientific innovations in natural ingredients, we are proud to only use ingredients that are proven and purposeful. Our actives are proven to provide protection from UV rays and our formulations are clinically proven to be suitable for sensitive skin.
The only people or things MOTHER SPF has been tested on is willing and able human beings. We never test on animals.
Return and recycle your empties!
Our tubes are made from recycled plastic to reduce our contribution to landfill and avoid using virgin plastic.
While they are 100% recyclable, it's important to note that most recyclable products are not effectively recycled in Australia. To recycle plastic effectively, lids must be removed and bottles should be cleaned thoroughly before disposal.
Let us take care of this process for you, helping to close the loop on MOTHER SPF packaging.

Is MOTHER SPF Cruelty free?
Hell yeah MOTHER SPF is cruelty free. The only people or things MOTHER SPF has been tested on is willing and able human beings.
Are your formulations certified organic?
We use organic ingredients where we can and if organic is not available we will search for sustainably sourced ingredients. Being a suncare product we use the highest possible grade ingredients available on the market.
Does MOTHER SPF use Nano-Particles?
We wanted to know what happens if Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles are absorbed? While there’s no definitive answer for this yet, there's speculation they may be absorbed into the cells and accelerate ageing both inside and out. While more research needs to be done, MOTHER SPF likes to steer clear of Nanoparticles and uses Non-Nano Zinc Oxide instead, to stay in the safe lane.
Is MOTHER SPF fragrance free?
Our formulations are free of any added fragrance; we decided to steer clear of using fragrance as it’s a common allergen and can contain up to 300 dangerous ingredients, which is a huge pass for us.
Which skin types are motherspf suitable for?
All our products are safe for all skin types including sensitive and acne-prone skin. Our use of clean natural ingredients and expert formulation ensures this.
